The project is “Funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and The Rockefeller Foundation.”
I am a recent graduate of the College of Journalism at the University of Florida. My studies in journalism focused on combining traditional and computer-assisted information-gathering with multimedia production to create news packages online.

We have a similar site for Barcelona (Spain): http://www.bdebarna.net
It was started a 4-5 years ago by two journalists. It shows its age and lack of budget but it’s a great site for finding great stories about love, city history, complaints… all stories are submitted by Barcelona residents.
