I am a student of journalism and linguistics at the University of Florida. My studies in journalism focus on combining traditional and computer-assisted information-gathering with multimedia production to create news packages online.
Successful online journalism is a balance between creativity and accessibility. Finding that balance is the goal of my studies; implementing it will be my career.
Fall 2007: I am the Independent Florida Alligator’s managing editor for new media and updating the Citizen Access Project. I’m taking classes in ethics, multimedia, and photojournalism. In my spare time, I am teaching myself video production/editing and databasing.
